I launched Berkshire Wellness Circle from my own savings, driven by the need to create something meaningful. Two and a half years later, it's still mostly self-funded. Despite the support from BNI and the fees I charge, I'm barely covering costs. To ensure the survival of this venture, I need to raise some serious cash.

So, what do I have to offer? I'm just one person, and not exactly a picture of fitness. I struggle even with short staircases, having to cling to the bannisters, and the other day, a trip to a London theatre left me aching after 7,000 steps and numerous steep stairs. Two days later, I'm still sore. Clearly, asking for sponsorship for a physical challenge isn’t viable as things stand. No one's going to cheer me on for a walk around the park, let alone donate money. I need to lose a significant amount of weight and build some muscle strength before I can consider such challenges.

But what if that transformation itself became the challenge? What if I committed to losing a substantial amount of weight, improving my fitness, and then doing something physically impressive? How far could I push myself?

So, here’s the plan: By the Summer Solstice 2025, I aim to:

  • Lose 30kg
  • Complete a 5km run (or at least a walk / shuffle)
  • Take part in an aerobatics flight
  • Ride England's longest zipwire in Superman style
  • Do a wing walk

Not necessarily in that order, but I aim to tick them all off by the deadline.

So, that's the big idea. Now it's out in the open, and if I don’t achieve it, I'll look like a proper chump. The pressure’s on. Wish me luck!
